Presented by our guest speakers, Charles Simon (Partner, Wotton + Kearney, Sydney) and Geoff Connellan (Partner, Moray & Agnew, Sydney)

Charles acted for the insurer of Downview Pty Ltd in the successful appeal to the High Court of Australia in the matter of Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd v Fox.

Charles acts on behalf of Australian and overseas insurers in relation to claims against building professionals, solicitors, accountants, manufacturers and suppliers, occupiers, public authorities and instrumentalities. Charles also provides advice to insurers on policy interpretation and has been involved in numerous coronial inquests.

Geoff has been a partner at Moray & Agnew since 1987. His practice covers professional indemnity, liability litigation and insurance advice (policy, compliance and litigation). He heads up a 10-partner Liability Insurance practice in Sydney and is the Head of the National Professional Indemnity practice group.

Geoff has been involved in significant High Court of Australia decisions including Burnie Port Authority v General Jones Pty Limited, Boland v Yates Property Corporation Pty Limited, Brodie v Singleton Shire Council and more recently Leighton Contractors v Fox.
